Q: These pain relief products come in patch, cream, spray and paste forms. Are these the same formulas?
A: No. Each product is a separate formulation for different applications. The Herbal Paste is the strongest formulation and is ideal for traumatic injuries where deep penetration into the tissue is desired. Our Herbal Cream is ideal for chronic indications such as arthritis and is easily applied to the joints. Herbal Spray is convenient for application in sports injuries either before, during or after a strenuous workout. The Herbal Patch is great for application to broad areas like the back, thighs or torso and offers long-lasting relief. Our Herbal Patch can be used along with Herbal Cream or Herbal Spray for enhanced benefits.

Q: Your herbal products smell a lot like Tiger Balm or Ben Gay. Are they the same?
A: No. We have a unique formulation based upon thousands of years of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Tiger Balm and Ben Gay are just average consumer products whereas our Golden Sunshine products are formulated to meet the needs of healthcare practitioners and each is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) where it has been given its NDC Number. Many products, including ours, use menthol to provide a cooling effect (waht you are smelling). However, it is the rest of the herbal formula that allows for long term relief, and those recipes we use are thousands of years old and have been proven effective. While many companies use menthol as their primary ingredient, we use it mostly as a penetrating carrier to transport the real product, our herbal remedy, into the tissue. Although you can clearly smell it, we use less menthol and more Chinese herbs.

Q: Some new pain relief products shown incorporate Far Infrared. How is this accomplished and why are these products better?
A: We are employing state-of-the-art technology in the Far Infrared products, the first of which is our new Far Infrared Herbal Patch. These products use a proprietary manufacturing process to incorporate a piezoelectric ingredient (the mineral tourmaline) that emits a Far Infrared frequency when activated by body heat. Far Infrared frequencies have been known to have therapeutic properties and have been used in heat lamps, TDP mineral lamps, saunas, and other products to enhance their healing effects. Now, this very new technology is available with our Chinese herbal formulas. Watch for new product offerings soon.

Q: Peeling the patch off is sometimes difficult, especially on tender areas. Is there a way to alleviate this problem?
A: Yes. The patches’ ingredients are water soluble. If you wet the patch prior to removing, it will be much easier. Some people find it easier to remove the patches while bathing or showering.

Q: Can the patch be cut into different sizes and shapes?
A: Yes. While for broader areas of the body like the back, shoulder or thigh, a larger size gives better results, for smaller areas like fingers or joints, the Herbal Patch can be cut to conform to the area. Keep in mind that the more contact you can make with the affected area, the better the results.

Q: I have sensitive skin. Is there any way to prevent skin rash while using the Herbal Patch?
A: Yes. While the Herbal Patch is one of our most effective products, if your skin is sensitive or a rash persists, our Herbal Cream is probably a better solution for you. The patch concentrates the herbal ingredients on the affected area and while the patch allows the skin to breath to an extent, the Herbal Cream allows far more freedom in the case of sensitive skin or those who are prone to skin rash from this type of product. Both the Herbal Patch and the Herbal Cream provide long lasting relief. Without the adhesive and covering of your skin, it is much less likely your skin will become irritated. Of course, if you do develop a rash or irritation, stop using the product. Any persistent rash should be brought to the attention of your doctor.

Q: Sometimes there’s some oil coming out of the Herbal Cream. Is this normal and is there anything special about the oil?
A: Yes. This is quite normal as we use some natural oils in our Herbal Cream to moisturize and soften the skin while allowing the herbal ingredients to penetrate deeply and last longer. To avoid the oils from separating from the cream, avoid temperature extremes. Room temperature of about 65 degrees F is ideal. You can stir or knead the oil back into the cream or just massage it into the skin during application.

Q: What is the best method of applying your Herbal Cream for maximum results?
A: For optimum effect, apply the Herbal Cream to the affected area and massage it in for about 10 minutes. Then, apply an Herbal Patch. Ideally, the Herbal Patch should be removed after about 8 hours to let the skin breath for a few hours before the next application.
